John Profumo and the Trial of Stephen Ward

Anybody who was not comatose in the London of the sixties can remember the Profumo case: sex, drugs and the upper classes. Here is the cover page of a Penguin book on Stephen Ward, the poor soul who committed suicide. The author, Ludovic Kennedy, was married to Moira Shearer, the ballet dancer. Lucky sod! Here are pictures of the three other people, including the main two "ladies" who were the centre of attention. One wonders what eventually happened to them, and if they went to heaven. Profumo became involved in charitable works, and Randy Mice-Davies wrote a bad book. Lower photograph of Profumo in later years.
